Waterproofing Paints and Sealants – Which is best for you?

Cromapol by Cromar Building Products

Cromapol is one of the best-known products in the roofing industry for solving waterproofing problems
.

It is a fibre reinforced acrylic compound available in 4 colours (Grey, White, Black and Opaque) and suitable for use on most substrates. Can be applied using a brush, roller or squeegee and requires just one coat.

Bigger gaps can be sealed with the use of scrim tape reinforcement

Available in 5Kg tins

Easy to apply Opaque is only available fibre free
Fibre reinforced Bitumen roofing felt needs to be primed
Instant Protection Cannot be used on fibre glass (GRP) materials
Solar reflective (Grey and White) Not for use on walkways or balconies
One Coat protection Not suitable for timber or new concrete
Economical

 

Evercryl by Sika Everbuild Building Products


Evercryl is manufactured by Everbuild, one of the most recognisable brands in the building trade.

Evercryl is a resin based roof waterproofing solution that is suitable for use on most common roofing products and can be easily applied by a brush.

It has fibre reinforcement throughout the compound and can be applied direct to the leak regardless if it’s raining, allowing emergencies to be dealt with immediately.

Available in 4 colours (Grey, White, Black and Translucent) requiring just one coat for protection even in areas that pool.

Available in 5Kg tins

Easy to apply Translucent is only available fibre free
Fibre reinforced Porous surfaces need to be primed
Instant Protection Cracked felt needs to be repaired prior to use
Can be applied in Rain and frosty conditions Cant be used on Styrofoam or PVC Foil
No Primer for sound and non-porous materials Is more expensive than the others
No wash off
