    Britmet Lightweight Roofing Solutions

Designed for residential and commercial properties

Britmet Lightweight Roofing is a privately owned business, Manufacturing in the UK and striving to achieve the highest levels in satisfaction and quality in the industry. Their vision is to provide products and support that go above and beyond the competition, adding value to our clients through innovation, sustainability and service.

    Low-Pitch

A roof is considered low pitch if it is 20 degrees or less. Low pitch roofing systems provide many advantages for a property; improved heating and cooling, low-risk and easier maintenance of the roof and compatibility with the latest solar panel designs.

Everyday buildings, such as conservatories, extensions, garages (etc.) often have low pitch roofs and can be fixed with an unattractive cement fibre roof system or a felt roof system if the low pitch roofing material possibilities aren't explored.

At Britmet Lightweight Roofing, we are proud to offer the total roof solution, with a range of lightweight roofing tile profiles that can achieve roof pitches of as low as 5 degrees. To provide you with the best possible opportunities for your property, our range of lightweight roofing materials offer the solution to your low-pitch problems, without compromising the aesthetics of traditional roofing materials.

    Low Cost

Britmet's lightweight tile range is purposefully designed to meet the aesthetics of traditional concrete, clay and slate tiles while outperforming them in low-pitch capabilities, durability and cost. Our range of lightweight metal sheets replicates the cover width of 5 traditional tiles saving you money and time through speedy installation. Our products are designed with installers at all skill levels in mind so that anyone, from DIY enthusiasts to experienced, approved installers, can fix our tiles quickly and safely.

In addition, Britmet tiles are maintenance-free for 40 years, saving you money on annual checks and repairs. Unlike traditional roofing materials, Britmet tiles will not break, chip, crack or delaminate, providing you with sound piece of mind and a low lifecycle cost.

With their dynamic, lightweight design, Britmet tiles reduce cost in transport too as they weigh 1/7th the weight of traditional roofing materials. This means that more tiles can be loaded onto a lorry and delivered to your project, reducing costs and CO2 emissions.

    Easy To Install

Britmet Lightweight Roofing tiles and slates have been designed to speed up installation time on site, reducing installation costs and reducing CDM risks. Each of our metal granulated Lightweight Roofing profiles have been designed to provide a longer cover width to allow for the equivalent of 8 traditional tiles or 5 traditional slates to be fixed in one go. In turn, this greatly speeds up the installation time and reduces health and safety risks while on site.

We are delighted to provide you with the best, but simple, solution for your project through our constantly evolving modern technology and innovation. Britmet's Pantile 2000 is a ridge-to-eave tile effect sheet, manufactured and delivered to the site in the custom rafter length of the project, making it the fastest lightweight profile to install. Our brand-new range of Door Canopies is provided pre-assembled in a flat pack for you to install within as little as 10 minutes! In addition, our Tactray 90 structural metal liner system, replaces timber rafters in steel framed buildings, fixed directly into the steel purlins using Tek screws. In turn, this forms a secure and weatherproof overhead canopy at an early stage of the project so that finishing trades can walk beneath the roof structure before the final weathering is introduced.

Each of our products has a handy universal installation guide with easy-to-follow steps for DIY projects and intricate experts alike! So, no matter how big or small the project, Britmet has the solution for you.

    Lightweight

More and more issues are beginning to surface for traditional roofing materials (asphalt, concrete, slate etc.) and, understandably, many project managers are searching for more sustainable and economical roofing materials. Lightweight roofing is proving to be the new frontier for any type of project, from home renovation to new build homes, due to the countless benefits it can provide. Lightweight tiles offer a safer work environment, as transporting and moving heavy concrete is no longer necessary, reducing risk for labourers and smoothing out the installation as a whole.

Britmet Lightweight Roofing tile profiles are 1/7th the weight of traditional, heavy tiles. Due to the lightweight nature of our tiles, we can transport up to 140m2 of materials per pallet reducing CO2 emissions dramatically, as only 50m2  traditional materials can fit on one pallet. In comparison, our products are far more cost-effective and environmentally friendly. Furthermore, in 2021, Britmet will recycle over 3 million tonnes of polymers in the manufacturing process of our synthetic slate tile, the Liteslate.

Britmet Lightweight Roofing provides the perfect solution for your conservatories and outbuildings with timber frames because they cannot withhold traditional, heavy roofing materials. Few too many people have fallen victim to irreparable damage to their existing framework as heavy roofing materials were used for the project and caused great strain on the supporting structure. Our plethora of lightweight tile profiles starts from 7kg per sqm, offering the ideal lightweight roofing solution for our clients and specifiers while providing a traditional tile appearance. Discover the endless opportunities Britmet Lightweight Roofing can provide for any project or building type. From sheds, conservatories and extensions to schools, hospitals and government buildings, we have decades of experience and technical knowledge behind us to help you every step of the way.
