Unlike grit sand, soft building sand is all about smooth finishes and ease of use.

Super easy to work with, fine sands are typically mixed with other building essentials to create sturdy, durable materials, with its most common use lying in bricklaying - you can whip up bricklaying mortar in an instant, simply by mixing building sand, cement and water. It can also fill structures and create a basis for bedding slabs and paving.
