Chesterfelt Felt and Shingle Underlay

Heavy duty underlay, perfect for use with shingles and shed felt on a variety of outside buildings.

It is a fibre-based bitumen underfelt with a sand finish and will enhance the life span of shingles and shed felt, leaving your buildings looking good for longer.

Available in 10m or 20m roll.

Type of application

This Underlay is intended for use as a traditional underlay in a bitumen built up roofing system for non-habitable buildings. Membranes should be installed in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines.

Compatibility

The material is compatible with all materials normally used in roofing structures and finishes and may be cut and formed using techniques described in BS8217: 2004. There are no harmful side effects associated with this material. Hydrocarbon solvent-based products, such as naphtha, paraffin and creosote will have a harmful effect and should not be allowed to come into contact with the material.

Storage & Handling

Do not drag rolls across rough surfaces, always lift. Rolls should be stored upright on a dry surface. During colder periods it is recommended that rolls are store in a temperature above 10 °c for 24 hours prior to use. During storage exposure to direct sunlight is to be avoided. Do not use in temperatures below 5 °c.
